Match Report: NCC (154/all out in 32.5 Overs, Ashar 57, Abdul 18*, Sunil 3/18) beat CCB (73/10 in 22.2 Overs, Sharique 15, Madassar 4/18, Swapnil 2/11) by 81 Runs

CCB was opponent in 8th game of league. We needed to win the game and keep ahead of chasing pack. NCC won the toss and elected to bat first.

We were aware of the threat CCB posed with the new ball so wanted to start cautiously. However all these plans were in tatters when Naveed was first to go with score on 5, Ali followed when score was 6 and Arshad also came back to pavilion with score 6. At the end of 5 overs we were 6/3.

Swapnil and Ashar tried to repair the damage. Swapnil was looking very dangerous and he hit some lovely shots. With things getting settled, Swapnil was adjudged to be LBW. At the end of 10th over we were 24/4. Our Captain Madassar joined in and he started building innings but as soon as we were looking to establish ourselves back, Madassar got out with score on 65.

Our lower order was not going to fold easily and they supported Ashar brilliantly. Farrach hit some lovely shots combined with tight defense. Unfortunately Ashar was run out when he strode out of crease, there was some confusion about his dismissal but in the end he was given out as his foot was on the line. Abdul tried to inflict more damage but he was left with no partners and we got out after scoring 154 Runs.

This was a challenging total considering our bowling prowess. However like last time we started badly and leaked 14 runs in very first over. Madassar brought himself into attack and in the very first over got their first wicket. Although there were lot of plays and misses but still their score was ticking and they were 30/1 after 6 overs. But after that Madassar took 3 more wickets including the dangerous McIntosh with a Yorker. Everyone chipped in with wickets. Abdul bowled with fire and got 2 wickets. Ashar claimed also one wicket. With 55/7 after 12,2 overs, the match was heading towards a swift end.

But Sunil and Mohsin started frustrating our bowlers and they went into break 70/7 after 20 Overs. Our bowling was rejuvenated after short break and quickly Swapnil got rid of Sunil and their last man Onkar in successive balls to finish the game.

It was a comfortable victory at the end but we need to improve our batting if we need to win upcoming games. We have to also improve bowling and fielding as we give lot of extras and some catches are also put down. Let us give our best in the next game.
