NCC (227 all out in 38.4 Overs, Ashar 59, Arshad 35, Ali 35) defeated PCC (157 all out in 34 overs, Swapnil 2/10, Saleem 2/13) by 70 Runs

NCC won the toss and keeping the Bavarian tradition alive elected to bat first in an overcast conditions. NCC openers Ali and Naveed started steadily but the runs were kept ticking by very generous bowling of PCC which offered lot of extras.

Naveed was first to depart after being adjudged LBW when the score was 35 runs. Arshad joined Ali and both of them put up a strong partnership. This was eventually broken by another LBW decision when Ali was given out. Ashar joined Arshad and both of them batted sensibly and huge score was looking on the cards. However Arshad could not keep his concentration and lost his stumps.

Ashar was joined with Swapnil and they upped the tempo. However Swapnil got out plaing an aggressive short. Ashar kept on playing and made 59 runs but no other batsman could support him and in the end NCC got out after scoring 227 runs.

This was a challenging total for PCC batsman. Swapnil and Madassar started the attack bowling and both were very accurate. Swapnil got the first break through and soon after PCC were on the racks and were 32/4. NCC was sensing an easy victory but PCC batsmen showed some guts. Jasprret and Venkat put up 40 runs stand. Things were starting to look dangerous but Saleem gave an important breakthrough just before the drinks break.

With the game seemingly wrapped, Captain tried some other bowling options and PCC tailenders were able to capitalize on loose bowling. In the end Madassar and Swapnil had to come back to wrap up the things.

In the end NCC won by 70 and it was a good start to season. However the bowling performance was not up to the mark. There were lot of loose deliveries being bowled and bowlers were not always sticking to the plan. Let us hope we improve our selves as the season goes on.
