NCC (81/5 in 12,3 overs, Naveed 21 Arshad 17) beat TCC (77 all out in 25 overs, Abdul Wajid 6/21, Madassar 2/4) by 5 wickets

Our second game of the league season was against TCC in picturesque Tegernsee. We had to scramble a lot to get the 11th player and finally managed to get Tanvir available at the last moment. Our team crammed into 2 cars and set off to Tegernsee.

The ground was very small and weather was bit chilly. TCC won the toss and elected to bat first. They opened the batting with dangerous Maxi and Saleem. However their partnership was very short and Madassar got Maxi with a Jaffa. Saleem and Wolfgang started building a dangerous partnership but Saleem was bowled by Swapnil. TCC was reeling due to loss of their two best batsmen and thinking of some rebuilding but Abdul Wajid ripped their middle order apart. He took 4 wickets in an over and TCC was reduced to 43/5.

Understandably TCC batters were then really cautious and tried to play out the complete overs. The scoring rate dropped and overs kept on ticking. Madassar brought himself back and got rid of Steffi to break a stubborn partnership. In the end Abdul finished the TCC team by taking 2 more wickets, TCC was bowled out for meager 77 runs.

The target was very less but in cricket everything is possible and our team was not going to take anything for granted. We started with our regular openers Ali and Naveed and both of them gave us a flying start. Ali was bowled in 3rd over when a ball kept low but NCC had already scored 21. Naveed was joined by Arshad and both batted sensibly. Arshad hit a wonderful six but soon after got out when the score was 57. Soon after Naveed also fell when the score was 62, with the game seemingly in bag our Captain tried some other batting options. They were not so successful and we lost 2 more quick wickets but the target was achieved without any panic.

The second game was very good from bowling point of view. We stuck to basics and bowled in the right channel. There were very few extras and pressure was built by all the bowlers. We have to improve our batting as our back up middle order did not use this chance for practice. There lies sterner tests in the near horizon and we have to improve in all areas. Now we have two wins in the bag and if we play with discipline and commitment we would have more success.
